The Lincoln Bathhouse serves as the Saratoga / Capital District Region Headquarters for the New York State Park Police. For more than 100 years, the NYS Park Police have ensured the safety of visitors to the 11 state park regions from Niagara Falls to Long Island, from New York City to the Canadian border, encompassing nearly 300,000 acres offering vast recreational opportunities. Over 200 full-time Park Patrol Officers plus additional seasonal officers continue to maintain one of the safest recreational systems in the nation.
Today’s Park Police Officers are highly trained professionals, skilled in investigation, rescue and emergency services. In addition, Park Police Officers provide education and training the state requires before individuals are permitted to operate boats or snowmobiles.
The Saratoga / Capital District Region State Park Police Headquarters oversees police operations in the region’s 10 State Parks, 10 State Historic Sites, other state park properties throughout the region and marine patrols on the Hudson and Mohawk Rivers. The State Park Police also provide law enforcement services at SPAC. The region features a number of patrol methods including the Mounted Patrol, Marine Law Enforcement with boats and personal watercraft, patrols on snowmobiles and ATV’s, and the region’s most recent addition, a K-9 unit.
