Building History

All of the buildings in the upper park, the original Saratoga Reservation, are listed on the National Historic Register and the area is designated as a National Landmark by the National Park Service. Therefore, any repairs or modifications require approval.

Coesa Spring in early 1900sIn the summer of 2002, Saratoga Springs was named by the National Trust for Historic Preservation as one of the Dozen Distinctive Destinations in the country. Saratoga Spa State Park’s National Landmark status was considered a major contributor to this important designation. Self-guided audio tours are available for rent and a guide to the springs is available at the Park Office, located in the Administration Building.
